At Tearaway Types we offer casual art and craft classes, children’s art classes, short courses and intensive workshops from our studios in Melbourne. You do not need to be a practicing artist to join our classes - they are open for everyone to attend regardless of artistic ability.

Through our workshops and casual classes we hope that everyone, at whatever skill level, has the opportunity to:

Share knowledge

Learn new skills

Connect with likeminded people

Support local artists by attending!

As a creative space for hire, we are keen to hear from all types of artists including painters, jewellers, designers, filmmakers, illustrators, art directors, costume designers, make-up artists, sound designers, animators, sculptors, visual artists, music producers, film events and pop up shops! We offer mural commissions, studio space to hire, as well as a gallery space.

Not your typical Gallery

Not your typical Gallery

The gallery has been created with the intention of providing a space to meet with clients or exhibit works. It is available as a pop-up shop or exhibition space. We have kept the original chemists’ counter as a nod to the history of the building and removed the roof to expose the original beams. It is a creative space for emerging and established artists to utilise.
